Krakow is a busy little station with a variety of locomotives, both diesel and electric, plus the dmu trains of course. Here EU07-336 runs light through Krakow station on February 24th 2007.
The winter sunshine makes this image seem very plesant, however the reality was that it was about -2 at the time. EP07-456 waits to depart Krakow GL on 24th February 2007.
Not everything about the railway history in Poland is good. Here this ground signal situated in the main Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was used to control trains arriving with european Jews for destruction. The area behind the signal was the main selection point in the camp, where people either went straight to their death, or into slave labour. A sobering thought.
