Well it's almost thirty years gone since the photograph on the left was taken. Swindon works, a magnet to us all in those days. The Westerns had all been withdrawn by now, but many still remained in the scrap sidings at Swindon. The image, taken on August 6th 1978 at Swindon shows Dave, myself and Lyndon posing on D1048 Western Lady. The forth member of the gang Julian took the photograph. Happy days indeed.
